Here we will post updates about our exciting new project, the ZR1 Pantera! Subscribe and check back for updates on our project.
We pioneered the first Chevrolet LS Engine Swap into the DeTomaso Pantera, which is well known to the Pantera community as the Z06 Pantera. Our Z06 Pantera was fitted with the LS376/480 which featured a naturally-aspirated 6.2L V8 with 480 HP and 475 ft/lbs of torque. This was not enough power for us at SACC Restorations. We are taking our Pantera a step further with our new LS9 Crate Motor. This is the motor that comes straight out of the 2013 ZR1 Corvette.
Some key specifications include:
- Supercharged 6.2L
- 638 stock horsepower
- 604 stock ft/lbs of torque
- Dry-sump oil system for maximum track performance
- 21 MPG on the highway
Our car will be a better than stock, though. Rather than using the stock ECM to control the motor, we will be using an Engine Computer Management System from MAST Motorsports that will tune the motor to just around 700HP and 650 ft/lbs of torque at the crank. We estimate the car to have about 575HP at the rear wheels but we assure you, we will be getting our car dyno’d when the project is complete.
